Investing in workforce talent
A recent survey by the Society for Human Resource Management concluded that our incoming generation is sorely lacking in much needed workplace skills — both basic academic and more advanced applied skills. As the baby boom generation slowly exits the U.S. workplace, the success of our local businesses depends on how well we invest in the pipeline of our future workforce.
The Council makes critical investments in workforce training and education so that businesses can be competitive and prosperous. Our workforce initiatives focus exclusively on building a pipeline of workers in the Greater Peninsula’s high growth, high demand and economically vital sectors.
