Construction Workforce Partnership

Building workforce skills in the construction industry

Whether you are interested in a career in the construction industry or looking to make your construction company more competitive, the Council and its workforce partners have a solution – The Construction Workforce Partnership.

A cooperative effort between construction industry executives, New Horizons Regional Education Centers, Thomas Nelson Community College, Peninsula K-12 partners and the Council, the Construction Workforce Partnership work to design recruitment, retention and training solutions to develop and retain skilled and capable human resources that can advance the industry to a robust and profitable future.

The Construction Workforce Partnership has facilitated many great programs and projects such as our summer Hard Hat Camp and the AGC Auction.  The Hard Hat Camp is a two day program for high school counselors exploring construction industry careers.

Participants share ideas through open discussions and team-building activities.  Local construction industry experts and area educators present on the available education programs and jobs available –  from labor based to technology focused.  Day two consists of an onsite tour of a construction project in progress and a look at the internal operations of a large construction firm.
