Downsize Notice Information Center

During the ebb and flow of the business cycle, businesses often experience downturns that force adjustments to the size of thier staffing.  For some companies, federal workforce notification rules mandate that many medium and large size companies will provide notification of intended reductions in staffing many days in advance of the reductions.  Many companies feel a strong desire to minimize the impact on their employees to the greatest extent possible when they are facing an economic necessity to curtail operations.

The Virginia Employment Commission will work discreetly with any area employer to help them through this stressful process. The Peninsula Council for Workforce Development may also be called upon by VEC to assist with job placement activities through our Peninisula Worklink teams.  The Council stamds ready to assist you if you are faced with these difficult decisions.  You may utilize the e-form below to notify the Virginia Employment Commission.
